Hi

My own domain is pointing to 174.142.79.83 (box 18), the last couple of weeks I cannot access my site from South Africa, will it help if I point my domain to 174.142.79.85 (is that IP for box 18).

Check in here: http://110mb.grd.net.pl/access-test/
And if you (and your visitors) can access the .85 IP (if you can see the access test for it on green) then yes, it will help you.
Of course you need to use custom DNS service (NOT 110mb nameservers) to do this. Remember that DNS changes are not instant, it may take time to take the effect. No change is needed in 110mb control panel.

Hi,

Change IP address...

How do you do this? - especially what and where is the custom DNS service.  I have my own, separate URL - does this make a difference???

THx...

For *.110mb.com subdomains you can not do anything.
But for any other domain name that you have pointed to box 18 you can.

If - let's say - you have registered a *.com domain name then go to your domain registrar.
If you do use ns1./ns2.110mb.com nameservers as authoritative for your domain name - don't use it anymore.

If your domain registrar does offer you DNS service, you can use your registrar's nameservers and set the proper "A" records to point your domain to IP of the server where you have your website hosted (174.142.79.85 in a case of 110mb's box 18).
If your domain registrar does not offer you DNS service (majority of them do, though) then you can choose some other DNS service, there are even free services, at domain registrar set the nameservers of chosen DNS service as authoritative (instead of 110mb's nameservers), and at chosen DNS service set the proper "A" records pointing domain to the IP address.

Control panels of various registrars are different, so exactly how to do these steps search in their help sections.
