Hi

For the last couple of days I cannot access 110mb or forum site, is there a problem?

I want to make changes to my sites but cannot access 110mb site to do this, is there another way of accessing my control panels?

According to the note on 110MB Downtime Updates - http://www.110mb.info/status/
Quote
We currently are experiencing a DDOS attack on our www server, We'll have it up when it's over, please note that all user sites are unaffected by this DDOS attack!
The same messages I am quoting for archive purposes (as some older entries are deleted on original website) on http://110mb.grd.net.pl/forum-news/

You can access control panel by login on one of these URLs:
Code:
http://box4.110mb.com/login.php
http://box5.110mb.com/login.php
http://box9.110mb.com/login.php
http://box11.110mb.com/login.php
http://box12.110mb.com/login.php
http://box13.110mb.com/login.php
http://box14.110mb.com/login.php
http://box15.110mb.com/login.php
http://box16.110mb.com/login.php
http://box17.110mb.com/login.php
http://box18.110mb.com/login.php
http://box19.110mb.com/login.php
http://box21.110mb.com/login.php
Depends on which server (box) your account is located. If you don't know this, you can check on this tool: http://110mb.grd.net.pl/ip-info/

One more thing you have to know is that for some servers (boxes) recently there were problems with login to control panel at all. If these problems still appear login will be not possible either from main page or from above server specific login pages.

Hi all,
As the 110mb.com forum completely shut down now or will it be back up? I see from the status page that there appears to be no life what so ever. As i use the sitebuilder tools via the login page (which also doesn't work) I can no longer access my site, however it is up and running with all current links intact.

For more than two months 110mb is supposedly DDoS'ed. Within this time 110mb did change the IP of www.110mb.com 13 times already, so website was accessible after such IP change for some time.

Around 2 hours after your post, ridings.info, and 2 hours before my answer, such IP change happend again, 14th time. And not only, this time 110mb.com is on different server in completely different data center. So 110mb.com is accessible as for now. Not the forums, though, database problems at the time of my post.

Yes, login to control panel on box 17 still doesn't work.

Too bad that you didn't ever change your site builder password (site builder password, not 110mb control password), you wouldn't have to access site builder admin panel through 110mb panel, but directly. Such change of site builder password is possible only from 110mb panel, though, so you can not do this now.

However there is a chance that you can access site builder admin panel directly, anyway. If by any chance you do have in your browser history the URL of this kind:
Code:
http://YOURSUBDOMAIN.110mb.com/admin.php?user=YOURSUBDOMAIN&passb=aBcDeF1234...
then this URL does contain your site builder password and you can use it. If you're feeling safe on your own computer you can save/bookmark this URL, but do NOT do this on public computer, as anyone could access your site builder admin panel with it.

Hi There,
I have tried to logon to box 17 but no joy and my browser is cleaned every 48hrs so no luck there. On a positive note however my friends account on box 18 was completely accessible, so not all bad news. I guess I will just have to sit and wait for now.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just read your post again Piotr and now understand what you meant! I have since managed to gain access to my site and can now edit it.
Many thanks for the info,
it takes a while for me to register the information but it does eventually and sink in.

things have been up and down at 110mb.com for a while but today I cant even get into http://www.110mb.com/ for the forum - http://www.110mb.info/ is still available (with warnings - even on google?) bu tthere is nothing snce the last (feb 2012) forum problem

I know box 5 has been down for a while now (apparently HD failure), but I see intermittant FTP access on lesley's monitor - how hard can it be to change a hard disk..

I did trace route on 110mb.com - it fails - so does ns1 - but ns2 is fine. I think 110mb.com has been "reapropriated" as the alias for that server was a .cn url (China)

I did find a couple of 110mb urls that were working, the 174's - but interestingly enuff they still show up as being in the Netherlands (supposed to be in Canada)

I tried to see what was up by searching google, but all I got were reviews, and basically since late 2009/ early 2010 those reviews ALL added up to a big fat 0 Smiley

I saw Piotr's take on 110mb in another (newer thread), there is probably some valid info, but i got the feeling early on that they intended to drop "free accounts" - 2 years without FTP, and now server failure (18 months after moving it) - and the same sort of issues on ALL other "free" servers

I would be interested to hear (or see review) what paying customers have to say, especially those who have joined since new owners

Cheers

Paul
PS - thanks for the backup forum Piotr, you should publisize it a bit more (I forgot it exhisted)

Hi Paul : )

Since 18th February 2012 www. subdomain of 110mb.com (and 911mb.com) has 2 "A" records:
Code:
www.110mb.com. 600 IN A 199.59.164.11
www.110mb.com. 600 IN A 216.15.199.76
Server under the first IP works fine, however second IP is inaccessible (this is old box 19 IP), so if you'll end up trying to access the second IP you won't get anything. I'm almost sure that no-one from 110mb is not even aware of this issue.

Every page of the 110mb.info domain had a spurious javascript attached to it for some time, so either antivirus software or even Google safe browsing tools did inform that was not safe to visit it. For couple of days it was fixed, but at the moment I can see that it's happening again, another but also suspicious for me javascript is attached at the very beginning for every 110mb.info page, so I advice to not visit 110mb.info at all.

It's not hard to change a disk. But it's hard to 1) find the money for new hardware while 110mb has a worse and worse reputation, less and less (I think so) incommings and no any extra money (I think so) for needed investitions and more importantly 2) find a time for this and many other things to do by a single one enough skilled system admin (Craig) that most likely has some other regular job and works on 110mb stuff only in a spare time. (This paragraph contain my speculations: no money, no incommings, no any other system admin than Craig, working in a spare time only; but I think I'm right in my speculations.)

ns1 works fine, it's on the same IP that 110mb.com. If it's not accessible for you then I don't know why.

Intended to drop "free accounts"... Well... This is definitelly inconvenient heritage for Jonathan and Craig at the moment...

I've created this forum back in "Andre's days" without any hope for it being much active. And as even main 110mb.com/forum/ is less and less active recently, I don't suppose that many people will visit my "backup" forum here, even if it would be publicized more. What's more - partially because of my chronic procrastination and partially because of 110mb.com forum and community being less and less active I have postponed much or even abandoned many updates, upgrades, enhancements, new functionalities for my server monitor and other 110mb tools, I put much less attention to 110mb stuff recently than back in time.

Many thanks to Piotr for providing information and help about 110mb.com when the "management" of the "service" failed in doing so.

I can still access my site and have FTP but can't access the File Manager or Forum anymore. Also Internet Explorer now returns Java Script errors (Firefox and Chrome do not). The same pages on another server and host do not have the Java Script errors with Internet Explorer.

I have stayed with 110mb because of the space available but after reading some of the comments in this forum I suspect it is time to abandon 110mb.com.

I welcome any other opinions on this matter.

Hello, I seem to be unable to connect to my website by ftp or cp. the site works fine but I need to make changes for some time now. It is hosted on box13(lucky?) and has been inaccessible for at least 6 months. Also I can't log into the forums on 110mb nor can I create a new user. What gives? Any ideas on what to do?

Hello : )

(...) Any ideas on what to do?

Realistically? Try to find alternative for 110mb.

Box 13 was enough fine before December 26th 2011.
Control panel and FTP on it was accessible last time for ~18 hours at January 5th/6th 2012.
At February 26th 2012 it looks that the server has been moved into different data center (it's most probably physically different machine than the one used before, so theoretically should work just fine like a brand new server with old content).
Since that day I didn't notice any changes on it, while pages works, access to control panel and through FTP is impossible.

As it takes long long time for the only one enough knowledgable 110mb system admin that works on it only in his spare time to fix anything on any of the servers, and there is very low possibility that 110mb will hire any other system admin that will treat it as a full time job... realistically best solution is to find alternative for 110mb as the hosting.

And our accounts on 110mb... I would keep them all and maybe in a year, two, three, maybe it will be usable again (for some hobby projects only, of course, for nothing that would be even little bit important). Just maybe, but I would keep all these 110mb accounts, even just to give them the reason to fix these servers sooner or later, as if we'll abandon our accounts they will have no point in fixing anything and it'll really never be fixed.

Well that's what I'm going to do, look for a different provider, but I still need to take the old site down somehow. The website works fine but considering the fact that it can't be updated leaves it kind of useless. So any ideas on how to disable the website?

If you use your own domain name - you'll just change your DNS records.
If you use *.110mb.com/*.911mb.com subdomain - I have no idea what can be done, rather nothing without 110mb admin intervention.
